My name is Alicia Varraso and I am currently a sophomore at Southern New Hampshire University. I play soccer and I'm a history and social studies education major. SNHU was not always on the top of my list of schools to attend. It was always an option in the shadows of my brain but did not become a main focus until late in my senior year of high school. I decided to attend SNHU mainly because of the location. It is only an hour away from home and I like knowing I can go home if I wanted to. Also soccer was a big factor is deciding what college to attend. I really liked the team and coaching staff, and knew I would be challenged here. Knowing that SNHU had a major I was interested in was important to me because a lot of the other colleges and universities I was looking at only had elementary education. I want to be a high school or middle school teacher when I grow up and SNHU has all the necessary resources for me to reach that goal.
Hey Alicia! Very informative first post. What caught my attention is that you are a history and social studies education major, same as me! It is something that I am very passionate about and sadly I don't find many others who feel the same. Social Studies is such an important, often under appreciated , subject that I am glad to see others enjoy. I will definitely be on the look out for more posts!
